Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.
Temporary, semi-permanent, and more long-term slide storage options include:

Electron Microscopy Sciences Wafer Cleaving Kit with Mat
The complete tool set to scribe and cleave cleanly. This is a critical step to getting the best cross-sections. The kit includes two diamond scribes for marking and scribing (straight tip and 30 degree tip), a pen-style diamond scribe, tweezers with black soft fiber fine tip (length 6.25 in), wafer cleaning pliers, a clear plastic ruler with metric and US units, and tungsten cleaving wire. This kit is suitable for a wide variety of substrates and wafers (Si, GaAs, glass). Includes 12x18 in wafer mat.
Electron Microscopy Sciences Wafer Cleaving Station with Mat
The Cleaving Station includes two diamond scribes for marking and scribing, one pen style diamond scribe and pliers for cleaving, everything in the Cleaving Kit. Electron Microscopy Sciences EMS25 TEM Grid Storage Box, Numbered 25 Slots
The EMS25 is a small capacity grid storage box, designed as a low cost alternative to larger grid boxes where extra storage capacity is not required. The box has a sliding cover, allowing access to 5 slots at a time. Each diamond shaped hole is capable of storing a 3.05 mm or 2.3 mm diameter grid. Storage referencing is managed via recessed alpha numeric indexing on the sides of the box.
The box contains two side features, allowing for easier handling during specimen removal, as well as a matt strip for extra notation. The boxes come with a durable 25 column card for record keeping. Our grid boxes are intended for use in both routine grid handling and for long term grid storage. Their compact flat shape and low cost make them well suited for the transportation of coated grid products and for the long term storage of catalogued specimens.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Cold Mount GeoFix Acrylic Resin
800g powder, 500 ml liquid. Easy to use resins with short curing times and negligible shrinkage. Self-polymerizing components that harden with addition of catalyst. Hardened acrylic is thermoplastic/resistant to most chemicals.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Gold Coated Specimen Discs for AFM, 15 mm
Magnetic stainless steel gold coated specimen discs have smooth edges and consistently flat surfaces to ensure secure holding. Specimens can be mounted directly on the metal discs with double sided tape, epoxy or conductive paste. If a mica specimen support is needed, the mica discs can be easily mounted on the metal support discs.
These discs offer excellent resistance to electromigration, high electrical and thermal conductivity, and high temperatures making them excellent substrates for mounting specimens. Packaged in a polystyrene disc storage box.
